Slashers II: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil 🏕
In movie news: 'The Lighthouse' director Robert Eggers sets his next project
🐪 Happy Wednesday!
Today we’re continuing our week dedicated to Slashers 🔪 with an underrated cult classic in the making that’s lighter and funnier for you horror averse folks.
Okay, here’s day 2️⃣.
And if you haven’t subscribed for human-curated movie recommendations in your inbox, what are you waiting for?
Today’s movie: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
STREAMING ON NETFLIX

What it’s about: You know the story: A group of college students on a camping trip in a remote part of West Virginia (is that an oxymoron?) encounters two menacing hillbillies that they think are murderers… hilarity ensues. Turns out the hillbillies, Tucker and Dale, are just affable best friends on their own vacation.
Why it’s great: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is a nearly pitch-perfect sendup of slasher movies that has just the right balance of horror and comedy. The increasingly ridiculous series of gaffs and misunderstandings — including an incredible scene involving a woodchipper — that make the college kids think Tucker (Tyler Labine) and Dale (Alan Tudyk) killers are what make the movie so fun to watch. But what makes it great is the surprising amount of heart it has. Tucker and Dale are so endearing thanks to Labine and Tudyk’s excellent performances that you leave the movie just wanting to give them a hug.
